Is how one of my closest friends Emma started our conversation on Facebook chat. Now when someone starts a conversation with 'riddle me this' you know your in for a treat. So when she continued with 'why are all the cute guys gay or in a relationship and of questionable morals' I was surprised.
a) because these are the type of conversations we normally have, and if we lived near each other I'm sure would be over a Cosmo or two
and b) because like I said, 'Riddle me this' was always going to involve some talk of men.
My response naturally was to say 'because their cute and the universe was clearly designed by a massive lesbo', now don't get me wrong I have nothing against lesbians, in fact a lot of my friends are gay, but if the universe was designed by a man surely he'd want to make sure all women would screw everyone of them, be it cute, skinny, fat, gay or straight...because like I said...their blokes, the majority of them think with their dicks ergo the lesbian idea. But she raises a valid point, why are all the decent good looking blokes gay etc? Is it because the universe has fuck you [enter name] written all over it. Or is it simply a matter of balance, if you want a good looking, decent heterosexual man you have to be either gay or less good looking than your partner to balance out his looks? Who knows all I know is there are plenty of men out there who will screw you over, to quote SATC, 'the good guys screw you, the bad guys screw you and the rest don't know how to screw you'...believe me I've done the leg work ;)
Does this mean that were all wasting our time that; all the boys, all the obvious dating issues, the rants over how all men are dicks, are just irrelevant because it's never going to change? That's the pessimist point of view, I however believe in balance, that for every 1,2, 10 guys you date there has to be at least one decent bloke out there...whether or not you find yours is a whole different story, but that's part of the fun of it.....isn't it?
Hugs and Cosmo's
Lisa xoxo
