It's my Mum and Dad's 26th wedding anniversary today. 26 years that baffles and amazes me at the same time.
I love my parents, and I know you have to seeing as they created me, but I truly do. My mum is my best friend, she's the one I go to to talk about anything and everything, she's the one that can bring a smile to my face, or make me laugh when I'm down. She's more than a mum, more than a friend, if there is a word for what she is to me, I don't know it. I just know I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have a mum like her.
My Dad is my superhero, (though he'd deny it). He's the one I go to if I need to cry (which doesn't happen very often). He's the one that when I'm sick will come over, give me a cuddle and tell me he'll take all the bad bugs away if I give them to him...yes even now when I'm 22 and I'll bet he'll still be doing it when I'm 40!! He's the strongest person I know, and every day I aspire to be half the person he is, to have half his strength, to have half his understanding and loyalty, half his capacity to love and forgive.
My parents have been through a lot together over the years, from my fathers mother disliking my mum, moving houses, living with said grandmother, caring for my nan, bampa and now my great aunt. Even going so far as to have my bampa (before he passed away) move in and now my great aunt lives with us. And yet, no matter what has happened in the past or what is still happening, I know they can get through anything as long as they have each other.
I only hope I get to experience half of what they have, in the future. That I can meet someone who will fight for us when the going gets tough, who will be; faithful, loyal, compassionate, and to hopefully still be as in love after 26 years and when we first me.
So happy anniversary Mum and Dad, congratulations on 26 years and here's to many many more :D

I should be in Starbucks
I'm currently writing this blog from the Holiday Inn Express hotel bar/lobby. I kinda feel like I should be in Starbucks; with a chia tea latte, soft jazz playing and other bloggers/writers and the such like.
I've been feeling really grown up today. Two friends that I went to university with, have come down to Swansea for the weekend, and they too are in the bar/lobby. One writing and the other doing the puzzles in the 'I' paper (never heard of it but ah well), she's enjoying herself. It feels very grown up to be sitting drinking tea and working on projects together, something we haven't done in about a year. And it feels really good to be working together, even though were all working on separate things, it feels good to have them back and to being grown up together, can only imagine how it'll be in another couple of years! I can't wait!!!
We've had several cups of tea, bottles of water and ice tea, feeling a little worse for wear after last nights antics but we've all agreed it was well worth it, even if I currently can't move my neck! But even though I can't move my neck, am dying for a fag (yes I haven't kicked the habit yet) and have work in 2 hours, I really don't want to move from this spot. I'm with two of my best friends; who are absolutely amazing, the sun is shinning (just about), I have tea and couldn't be or feel happier :D
Hugs and kisses and I hope your with your besties just like I am

Men and their toys!
So I am currently writing this whilst sitting in my dressing gown, pretty much in naked underneath having been summoned by my dad to help sort his phone.
Why do men insist on getting top of the range technology, e.g. iPhone's, laptops, TV's etc. (like I said toys) if they can't work them!?!? My bampa was the same, constantly buying the newest and latest things technology had to offer and then he'd call me up asking if I could pop round and set it up!!
My Dad is exactly the same. He's currently trying to sync his AOL (don't ask, we live in the UK and have no need for AOL) account to his phone so he can connect with icloud. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong. He can't receive any e-mails on this account. He can send them out, as he's proven by the 10 new e-mails in my inbox, he just can't get any. I've told him it's probably because of the different programs each site runs on and that it'd be easier just to set him up with a Gmail account but he wont listen.
And as I'm typing I'm hearing the constant questions of "what does that mean?" or "what's an IP address?" or "what the hell am I doing?!?" to the final acceptance, "I don't understand any of this!" All I'm saying is if you don't understand, go to a professional not your daughter and not at half midnight when she's just got home from work and hasn't had a cuppa yet!!
Wish me luck!!
XOXO

Oh now he's found out he can personalise his e-mail page! Lord help me!!

New Me Day 1
So I told you I'd write and let you know how I've got on so here we go. New Me Day 1.
Total Cigarettes smoked : 5 (we'll call it 6 as I may have one later before bed)
Total packet of crisps eaten : 3
Exercise done today : does cleaning/sorting my room out count? No? in that case, none...oops!!
Ok, ok, so that didn't go exactly to plan, but on the other hand, 5 fags is pretty good for me, but I wasn't at work or the pub so that's probably why :/
As for the exercise, I really was going to do sit ups today but didn't get out of bed till 2.30 pm and have been working on my other to do list, which involved sorting and cleaning my bedroom among other things.
And yes I am currently curled up in bed with a DVD and a box of Milk Tray but I'm watching a film...I'm allowed right?! Ah well I will do double the amount of sit ups tomorrow to make up for it.
Here's to a better day tomorrow

Quote of the week 2
I know I said I'd post an inspirational quote every week, but I forgot...SORRY!!!
As usual these quotes will reflect things that are going on in my life at the moment, so if you've read my previous post you'll understand why I've chosen this one :) For everyone else, I hope it helps.
"If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living". - Gail Sheehy (writer)

New week New Me!
So it's currently Sunday, (well technically it's early Monday morning but who's checking!?) so yeah, it's Sunday and I've decided that I going to create a whole new me! Well not new, just improved.
So here's my list of what I'm going to do as of tomorrow to Improve myself :)
1) quit smoking (having smoked for over 8 years it's going to be interesting)
2) get fit (were talking sit ups, zumba, swimming, possibly running)
3) get into a proper skin care routine (I always start off well and then stop..oops!)
4) do something different (join a club or something, meet some new people)
5) become inspired again and find an outlet for that creativity.

So this blog is now going to be a 'Bridget Jones esq diary' I will hopefully blog every day, or at least once a week on my progress (I guess that's number 6, blog about all the above! haha). Tell you all how many fags I've had, what I'm doing to quit, what exercise I've chosen to do that day etc. And just tell you about my daily life...not that it's that interesting but ah well we'll soon find out!
So here's to the improved...not new.....ME :D

Quote of the week - week 1
So I'm thinking of starting a quote of the week post that will go with whatever I personally am going through or ones that have helped me in some way, shape or form. They won't always have an author and you may or may not have read them before but I hope they help.
'Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about those who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance take it, if it changes your life let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it'd be worth it.' - written by anonymous
